WhoWe Are?
The Presque Isle County Development Commission (CDC) is a group appointed by the Presque Isle
County Board of Commissioners which has been
promoting economic development throughout the county since 1999. It offers assistance to
existing and new businesses with staff training, loans for special purposes, business plans,
etc. through the work of its staff.
The Presque Isle County Economic Development Commission
(EDC), consisting of the same commissioners, manages Renaissance Zones in Onaway and Rogers
City. The EDC was incorporated in November, 2000 to provide a local source of tax-free
bonding capacity, development project planning, and economic policy leadership.
What do we do?
The function of the CDC is to advise, guide and promote business growth and retention in Presque
Isle County. CDC Director William R. Valentine works with the Board to accomplish Commission
goals and adopt strategies for growth.
The function of the EDC is to help implement development projects including arrangement for
tax-free bonds, assuring adequate infrastructure and providing on-the-ground project management.
When do we meet?
The CDC and EDC Board meets monthly on the third Thursday at 6:00p.m.in the Commissioners' Room
of the Presque Isle County Courthouse, 151 E. Huron Avenue, Rogers City.
The public is welcome. You are invited to share ideas or concerns with the CDC Board of Directors.
